FOR ABSTRACTS
The Symposium invites
abstracts for the poster sessions. All participants who intend to present
papers are requested to submit abstracts. Papers on the following topics
are anticipated.

How to Submit
Authors are requested to submit their abstracts prepared in MS Word via
internet. Those unable to complete the online submission, please contact
the Registration Secretariat, directly.
Instructions for
Preparing Abstracts

The
on-line system can only accept MS Word documents. Other documents
will not be accepted. |
| 2. |
The allotted
space for the contributed abstract is a half page: 17 cm (width) x
11.5 cm (height). |
| 3. |
The text should
be typed with single line spacing, using 11pt. Times, Times New Roman,
or Symbol font for α, β, μ, etc. |
| 4. |
The abstract
should be written in English within approximately 250-330 words including
| a) |
Title
starting from the top left. |
| b) |
List of
authors (family name, first initial and middle initial). The
presenting author's name should be underlined. |
| c) |
Affiliations;
department/institution, city, country of all authors. Superscripted
numbers should be used to identify which author is affiliated
with which institution. |
| d) |
Abstract |
| e) |
If necessary,
tables, illustrations and monotone photographs may be digitized
and pasted within the space. |

When you complete
the abstract, save it in the name of the presenting author. "MAC"
users are requested to add ".doc" at the end of the file
name. e.g. sugiura.doc |

Fill in the
columns required on the abstract submission form, including appropriate
topic number chosen from the 8 areas described above which best expresses
the contents of your abstract. |

Attach your
abstract at the last section of the form. |
| 9. |
Confirmation
of receipt of abstract will be sent to the presenting author by e-mail. |
Submission Deadline:
May 28, 2003
Notification of
Acceptance
Notice of acceptance will be e-mailed by July 31, 2003. Contributed papers
will be presented as posters. Abstracts accepted for presentation will
be printed and distributed to all participants during the Symposium.
Poster Presentation
Please prepare your poster according to the following guidelines.
The poster will be mounted on a panel of 90 cm (width) x 150 cm (height).
Please refer to the illustration.
Title:
Use an area of 20-25 cm x 90 cm at the top of the poster for the
title, authors' names and affiliations.
Text, Tables and Figures:
All material should be visible from a distance of 2 meters. A poster
number and pins will be provided by the organizer. |

Poster Award
Scientifically good posters will be selected and awarded by the Program
Committee.
Language
The official language of the Symposium is English.
