Heian Shrine (a vermilion colored structure with green roofs reflects the influence of Chinese Tang dynasty architecture. The garden is also beautiful with seasonal flowers.)
Shimogamo Shrine (one of the oldest shrines in Japan built in the 7th century. Enjoy its treasures and the Imperial court dances by court ladies in ceremonial costume.)
These two buildings are designated as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.
