Daikakuji Temple
*Detached Palace of Emperor Saga.
This temple was built by Emperor Saga as his detached palace and was converted to Daikakuji Temple by his daughter in 876 AD. Since then, chief priests have been succeeded by members of the imperial family. It is decorated with many precious and beautiful Kano School Fusuma (sliding doors) paintings. These are all important cultural properties. The Welcome Reception will be held in the special Shinden Building within the Daikakuji complex. This lighted-up event will be a unique and exceptional opportunity.

In early April the weather is still chilly, especially in the evening. Participants are advised to dress warmly at the Welcome Reception.
