Access to Kyoto

A direct flight to Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the most convenient and economical route for overseas participants to the Workshop. From there, participants can reach Kyoto by the following means.

  1. Access to JapanJR (Japan Railway) Airport Express train, "Haruka" directly connects you to JR Kyoto station. It departs approx. every 30 minutes. Traveling time: 75 min. Fare: ¥3,280 for reserved seats, ¥2,770 for non-reserved seats.
  2. An airport limousine bus service. Buses depart every hour. Traveling time: 95 min. Fare: ¥2,500.
  3. Kansai airport shuttle service: Traveling time: 3 hours (subject to change due to traffic conditions).

Note: Please note that the consumption tax will be raised from 5% to 8% on April 1, 2014 in Japan and that the above-mentioned JR/bus fares are based on 5% rate. The revised fares will be announced on our website after April, 2014.

Access to ICC Kyoto

Conference Venue

Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto) has shaped the history of conventions in Japan since its opening in 1966. ICC Kyoto has staged over 16,000 conferences in every field. It is a historic place where the Kyoto Protocol COP3 was adopted in 1997. The facility offers more than 70 large and small conference rooms, Exhibition Hall, and VIP rooms including 9 halls with simultaneous interpretation equipment. Surrounded by beautiful nature, the buildings are positioned within the vast traditional Japanese garden, ICC Kyoto continues to be a leader in Japanese conventions and a base for communication and intellectual exchange from Kyoto to the world.
