Invitation
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Please
allow me to welcome all of you to the Sixth International
Symposium on Meniere's Disease and Inner Ear Disorders,
which will take place in Kyoto, Japan, from November
14 to 17, 2010.
This is the first time that
the Symposium is being held in Japan. I am very grateful
and honored to host it here in Kyoto, and I hope that,
with your collaboration and contribution, it will be
a great success.
This Symposium will include
a high quality scientific program focusing on Meniere's
disease and vestibular research, and in addition expand
its coverage to include "Inner Ear Disorders"
such as sensorineural hearing disturbance (SNHD), in
order to reflect the remarkable recent progress in the
fields of basic science such as molecular biology, genetics,
and regenerative medicine.
Kyoto, the Symposium venue,
which was the capital of Japan for more than 1000 years
from 794 A.D. to 1868, is one of the most historic and
beautiful cities in Japan. It has 1600 Buddhist temples
and 400 Shinto shrines, and is the heart of traditional
arts and religions. It is also a place of science and
culture, for Kyoto has about 40 colleges and universities.
Late autumn is the most beautiful
season in Kyoto, especially as the mountains are covered
with burning red and yellow leaves, and the temperature
is comfortable.
We are planning many attractive
social programs for all participants, including accompanying
persons so that they may enjoy Kyoto.
We look forward to welcoming
you to Kyoto in November, 2010.
